Overview:
Project Jumpstart is a partnership between the Breitung Township Schools and local businesses/industries. In an effort to prepare students for post high school employment and future careers the Breitung Township Schools will work with these local entities to articulate courses to match requirements of the local businesses/industries.
Breitung Township Schools will create a committee of educators, local businesses/industries, and learners. This committee will provide suggestions on needs that can be meet by courses within the school district. Courses that meet these needs will be marked as a Project Jumpstart course. Completion of a set of Project Jumpstart courses within a business/industry area will earn the learner a Project Jumpstart certification.
Implementation:
Starting in the Spring of 2019 Breitung Township Schools will reach out to our local business/industries that may be of interest in the program. From that initial contact Breitung Township Schools will form an advisory committee. This committee will designate courses that best fit Project Jumpstart criteria for alignment.
Fall of 2019 the Project Jumpstart advisory committee will provide recommendations and meet with educators to help them align courses to Project Jumpstart articulation standards.
In the Winter of 2020 the Project Jumpstart will have all articulated classes marked or have articulation plans in place. The Project Jumpstart advisory committee will start creating certification areas.
Starting with the 2020/2021 school year Project Jumpstart courses and certification areas will be completely established and available for learners.
